Ano Hana is already a hit wherever it goes thanks to the TV series. Its theatrical release proved this once again. In about two months of release, the film has already grossed the impressive mark of 1 billion yen, about 10 million dollars . The film was shown in 64 theaters. Today, many days later, the film continues to be shown in approximately 70 theaters across Japan. A common contender among the top 10 most-watched films in the country, the movie seems to have become a hit since its premiere on August 31st.

Synopsis : In the film, the story is told from Menma's point of view and includes a new epilogue, exclusive to theaters. There is still no release date for the Blu-Ray or DVD , but it is expected to be sometime in 2014.
Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Boku-tachi wa Mada Shiranai, or 'Ano Hana', was an 11-episode series that aired in 2011 and won numerous awards and accolades in Japan, as well as the affection of many fans worldwide. The series was adapted into a manga in 2012 by Square Jump, totaling 3 volumes. The studio A1-Pictures is responsible for the productions.
